*Late registrations received from April 4 to 10 will be assessed $100.00 plus GST.
Absolutely NO registrations will be accepted after April 10th.
The AA tryouts for the 2018 - 2019 season will be held from April 18th- 29th at Southdale Arena. ANY ATHLETE WISHING TO PLAY IN THE AA PROGRAM MUST REGISTER AND ATTEND TRYOUTS.
If a player is unable to attend tryouts they will be excused for the following reasons only:
-family death or health emergency
-school sanctioned event (not including the high school ringette    tournament)
-sickness or injury, accompanied by a doctor's note
-religious beliefs
All absentees must be written and provided to the tryout coordinator, Jeff Tutkaluk ( and AA Chair, Penny Lesperance ( as soon as you are aware of an absence. The AA committee will determine a fair evaluation for these players. However, if a player does not attend tryouts for the reasons noted above their score could prevent placement on a AA team.
U14AA - (Born 05 / 06) - We anticipate having 4 teams at the U14 age level
U16AA - (Born 03 / 04) -  The intent of the AA committee is to form 4 teams at this age group if registration #'s are sufficient and skills are considered at a AA level. The final determination of the number of U16AA teams will not be made until tryout registration numbers are submitted and skills can be evaluated.
U19AA - (Born 00 / 01 / 02) - The intent of the AA committee is to form three (3) teams at the U19 age level. The final determination of the U19 team formation will not be made until tryout registration numbers are submitted and skills can be evaluated.
The 2018 - 19 AA tryouts will be operated in a centrally coordinated manner, so that evaluation of the athlete is consistent.
After tryouts are complete, teams formed, all athletes who were not selected will be required to return to their home association. If a player is selected to play on a team outside of their catchment area and the player declines to play, they will not be selected to another AA team and will return to their home association. It is the intent of the AA committee to allow all AA evaluated players to have the opportunity to be selected for a AA team.
*CWG PARTICIPANTS: Players born after 1999, and still involved in the CWG team selection process MUST attend tryouts. If a participant is successful to the CWG program, they will be refunded their AA tryout registration fee. If not selected for the CWG program, the player will be placed on a AA team.

Hello SWRA ringette teams,

I would like to bring to your attention a new fundraising option for your teams in Winnipeg.

  1. You can visit the web page at This page provides a brief high-level overview of what this fundraising program is about.

  2. The attached brochure is for the person responsible for choosing fundraising options (eg. Volunteer for a parent group). This provides an example of what would be sent to parents and other donors. Each team will have its own custom web address for their own fundraiser. This will be provided by Local Frequency.

  3. Once a team is registered for a fundraiser, the Local Frequency team will create a custom web page for the team and craft an email for the fundraisers to distribute.

  4. Until end of January 2018, 80% of the subscription price will go to the team. As by way of an example, for a small team with 25 kids, if each family sold a modest 4 subscriptions, this would be 25 X 4 X $20 = $2,000 for the team.

If you have any questions about this program please contact

SWRA U14 AA program – Information session

The Southwest Winnipeg Ringette Association (SWRA) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the U14 AA Wild team starting September 2017.

All parents of athletes born in 2004/2005 are invited to attend an information session at the River Heights Community Centre on Monday, February 27th at 7:30 pm. Athletes are welcome to attend as well if interested.

There will be a short presentation to provide general details on what families should expect if choosing to join the AA program, followed by an open forum to answer any questions you may have. This forum will be hosted by current “AA parents” who will offer you a realistic view of what it means to be part of the AA community.

Hoping to see you all on February 27th!
